Box Score

Findlay, Ohio – The University of Findlay women's soccer team remained undefeated after taking down the Cedarville University Yellow Jackets by a score of 1-0 on Thursday, Oct. 18 in Findlay. With the win, the Oilers improve to 7-0-1 on the year and 5-0-1 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play while the Yellow Jackets fall to 4-5 overall and 3-2 in league action.

It was a defensive battle from the beginning of the game as the teams combined for just five shots in the first half, all of which were taken by Findlay.

The final shot of the half came with just a minute on the clock when sophomore Sydney Demyan sent a free kick into the box which was headed by freshman Madison Mlsna towards the goal. Junior Karleigh Clere finished the job, putting the ball in the back of the net to give the Oilers the 1-0 lead.

In a chippy second half that saw a trio of yellow cards handed out, Cedarville did finally put some pressure on an Oilers defense that has allowed just two goals this season. The Yellow Jackets took five shots in the half to just two by Findlay, but it was not enough as the Orange and Black did what they have done all season – defend.

In the game, the Oilers took seven shots while Cedarville had five. Yellow Jackets goalie Allison Garlock played all 90 minutes and allowed one goal while making four saves.

Junior Nicole Burke picked up the win in the net for Findlay while senior Anna Money made the only saves for the Oilers, two, which both came during the second half.

Findlay is back in action this Saturday, Oct. 12 when they host conference rival Ohio Dominican in a game that will kick off at 4:00 pm.
