The University of Findlay women's soccer team has earned a trip to the 2022 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Championship for the fifth consecutive season and will enter the tournament as the fourth seed. The six-team tournament begins on Saturday, Oct. 29 with a pair of quarterfinal matchups. Five days later the tournament will move to top-seeded Cedarville University, the regular season champion, who will host both the semifinals and finals.

Findlay's quarterfinal game will be played tomorrow at 1:00 pm EST and pits the Oilers against the Trevecca Nazarene Trojans out of Nashville, Tenn. The two teams have met six times since Findlay first joined the G-MAC in 2017. In those six matchups, the Oilers have not lost to the Trojans, posting a 3-0-3 record. Just nine days ago the two teams met in Nashville, a game that the Oilers won by a score of 5-1. In the six games combined, Findlay is outscoring Trevecca Nazarene 12-5.

Findlay

The Oilers are 9-5-3 on the season and 8-4-2 in conference play. Findlay comes into the match as the fourth seed in the Great Midwest Women's Soccer Championship. Findlay is led on offense by junior Ellie Tischler who recorded eight goals this season. Tischler ranks sixth in the G-MAC for goals, averaging .471 per game. Tischler is assisted by senior Elizabeth Talabac and freshman Payton Miller who have both contributed five. The Oilers have found two relaible goalkeepers this season in both junior Kennedy Slovak and freshman Audrey Gibson-Zweifel. Slovak has recorded 36 saves in ten games played. She has allowed thirteen goals this season and has a save percentage of .735.

Trevecca Nazarene

The Trojans are 9-5-4 on the season and are 7-4-3 in conference play. Trevecca enters the Great Midwest Women's Soccer Championship as the fifth seed. Trevecca is led on offense by seniors Gigi Ariola and Makena Schlosser who have both recorded five goals this season. Junior Skye Baun averages .231 winning goals, the third best in the Great Midwest. In the goal for Trevecca is senior Delayna Holman. She has recorded 68 saves and allowed 17 goals. She has a save rate of .800 which ranks fourth in the conference.


Should the Oilers win, they will go on to face top-seeded Cedarville on Thursday, Nov. 3 at 7:00 pm in the semifinals. The championship game will be held two days later, Nov. 5 at 4:30 pm in Cedarville, Ohio.
