7 Oilers Earn All-Conference Accolades

The University of Findlay volleyball team had seven individuals earn all-league honors from the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC). Senior Hailee Olson and junior Shelby Kin led the way as they both secured first team all-conference accolades.

Olson leads the team and ranks second in the G-MAC with 11.64 assists per set. Olson has 1,152 assists this season and ranks second all-time at Findlay with 5,303 career assists. She has also accumulated 175 digs, 39 aces and 32 blocks for the Oilers in 2018.

The Malone, Wis. native has been named all-conference in each of her four seasons. The 2015 NCAA Division II Freshman of the Year has also been named all-region and all-American three times during her career.

Kin has totaled 295 kills and ranks second in the G-MAC with a .353 hitting percentage, the fifth-highest mark in school history. Kin also has a team-high 73 blocks.

The Carey, Ohio native was named first team all-conference a season ago as well.

In addition, seniors Amanda Winner and Kara Scherger were named second team all-conference along with juniors Izzy Murphy and Molly Hammersmith, and sophomore Madison Moore.

Winner has now been named all-conference three times during her career and was an all-American last year. This season, Winner leads the team with 323 kills and has also recorded 210 digs. The Versailles, Ohio native ranks fourth all-time at Findlay with 1,617 kills. She has also recorded 924 career digs.

Scherger has now been named all-conference twice during her career and currently leads the team with 443 digs, the tenth-highest single season total in school history. The New Riegel, Ohio is the school record-holder for career digs with 1,834.

Murphy is second on the team with 307 kills and is hitting .279 while Hammersmith has produced 126 kills and is hitting .327. Hammersmith was also named second team all-conference last season as well.

Moore has accumulated 168 kills and 45 blocks this season while hitting .296.
