Oilers Get First Victory of Season

Box Score vs Northwood

Hillsdale, Mich. - The University of Findlay women's volleyball team went 1-1 on Saturday, September 14 as they lost to Ashland University, who has a record of 6-1, in four sets, (26-24, 19-25, 15-25, 22-25), and defeated Northwood in three sets, (25-20, 25-21, 25-22). The victory against Northwood is the first win on the season for the Oilers, as they now have a record of 1-7. 

Senior Shelby Kin had a team-high 21 kills on a .265 hitting percentage, while also contributing 10 digs. 

Junior hitters Rylie Pattison and Madison Moore each blasted 11 kills in the match. 

Emily Annesser led the team in assists with 36 and also led the team in digs with 14. Chloe Lentych recorded 12 digs of her own.

Kin had another impressive outing in match two as she downed 16 kills to lead the Orange and Black. 

Olivia Morrison was all over the court defensively, as she had 20 digs in the match. 

Setter Emily Annesser filled up the stat sheet as she dished out 29 assists to go along with 14 digs and five kills.

Moore had 8 digs of her own, and Lentyce added 7 in the match. 

The Oilers will have a week off before they will be back in action, as their next matches will take on Saturday, September 21 when they will host Indianapolis and Seton Hill into town. The start time for those matches are set to start at 11:30am and 4:30pm, and they will both take place in Croy Gymnasium.
