Oilers Drop First Match of Crossover

Indianapolis, IN – The University of Findlay volleyball team is in Indianapolis for the annual GLVC, G-MAC, GLIAC Crossover on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 18-19. Each team from every conference will play three matches on the weekend. In the Oilers' first and only match of the day they were pitted against the Lewis University Flyers and lost the match 3-0 (25-12, 25-17, 25-20). With the loss, the Oilers are now 5-13 on the year while Lewis improves to 17-3.

Senior Shelby Kin led Oilers hitters with ten kills in the match. She had 31 attacks while junior Rylie Pattison had 22 attacks and picked up seven kills.

Olivia Morrison led the defense with 13 digs while Cassidy Martin had a solid match, smashing three kills on eight attacks, serving two aces, and picking up a pair of blocks.

As a team, Lewis hit .316 in the match which was helped by an incredible .536 hitting percentage in the opening set.

Findlay is back at it tomorrow with a pair of matches. They will play Missouri S&T at 10:00 am and then finish the event taking on Saginaw Valley State at 4:00 pm.
