Canton, Ohio – The University of Findlay volleyball team bounced back after a tough loss yesterday, defeating the Malone Pioneers 3-0 (25-22, 25-14, 25-29) on Saturday, Oct. 22. With the victory, Findlay now has a record of 15-11 and 11-2 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play. Malone falls to 9-16 on the year with a 5-8 record in the G-MAC.

In the first set, the score was back-and-forth with neither team holding more than a three point lead. However, with Malone trailing by one at 21-20, the Oilers were able to outscore the Pioneers 4-2 to take the first set by a close margin.

The second set was back-and-forth but ultimately paced by Findlay. With the score in favor of the Oilers at 12-11, Findlay would go on a 13-3 run to breeze by the Pioneers.

The Oilers picked up where they left off and took an early lead in the third set. The Pioneers wouldn't go away easily as they battled back to trail by four late but two consecutive kills by Journey Blevins gave the Oilers the set and the match.
