Blevins Named Second Team All-American by AVCA

Findlay, Ohio - The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) released their selections for NCAA Division II All-American on Wednesday, Nov. 30 and University of Findlay star Journey Blevins found a spot on the second team. This is the second consecutive season Blevins has earned AVCA All-American status as she was named honorable mention last season. She is the first player at Findlay to be named all-American by the AVCA in back-to-back seasons since Hailee Olson (2016 and 2017).

Bevlins, who was is a first team all-region selection and Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Player of the Year this season, continues to garner attention as one of the top outside hitters in the country. This season, the Richwood, Ohio native was second in the region and fourth in the country with 484 kills while her 4.56 kills/set ranked second in the region and fifth in the country. She was a scoring machine, posting 516.5 points this season, a rate of 4.9 points per set. That ranked eighth in the country and third in the Midwest region.

Her 484 kills this season rank tenth at UF for kills in a season while her 4.61 kills per set rank fifth. To date, she has 890 career kills with two years remaining, putting her on pace to eventually rank in the top-three at Findlay in that stat all-time. Blevins is also on pace to become Findlay's all-time leader in kills per set as she currently sits at 4.61 kill/set through two seasons.
