Oilers Women Place 3rd, Men Place 10th at Fast Cats Classic

Owensboro, Kentucky - The University of Findlay Men and Women's Cross Country team competed at the Fast Cats Classic on Saturday, October 12. The Women's team finished in third place out of 16 teams in the 6k, while the Men's team finished in 10th place out of 15 teams in the 8k.

Women's 6k:

Sophomore Gabrielle Lawrence ran an impressive time of 18:23, which placed her 3rd overall! 

Freshman Meghan Donoher ran a 19:25, placing her in 18th overall.

Junior Jeruto Matilda was just six seconds behind Donoher, as she ran a 19:31, which placed her 23rd.

Freshman Morgan Gaskins placed 28th, clokcing in with a 19:37 time.

Other Findlay runners were Freshman Hayley Robinett, (20:06), Sophomore London Moening, (20:47), and Junior Jenna Shipman, (21:25). 

Men's 8k:

Junior Ryan Kohout led the way for the men's team with a time of 27:25, which placed him in 41st overall.

Freshman Tristin Freistuhler wasn't far behind Kohout as he placed 64th in the contest with a time of 27:52. Sophomore Wade Hopkins finished in 73rd place with a time of 28:03. 

Other Oiler runners included Noah Louria, (28:35) and Dylan Hunter, (29:42).

Next Contest:

The Oilers will compete again on Saturday, October 26 at the G-MAC Championship, which will take place in Pepper Pike, Ohio.
