Jeremiah Jackson Selected for University of Findlay's Founders' Award

Findlay, Ohio - The University of Findlay Department of Student Affairs announced the winners of the 2023 Founders' Awards, given annually during the University of Findlay Symposium for Scholarship and Creativity. Football senior Jeremiah Jackson was selected as the male winner, adding to what has been an outstanding list of accomplishments in his time with the Oilers.

The University of Findlay's Founders' Son and Daughter Awards are annually conferred upon two students who most exemplify the ideals of the founding fathers. Those ideals include high achievement in scholarship, leadership, service to others, and demonstrated personal integrity in and out of the classroom.

In his time at Findlay, Jeremiah has served as President of the Digital Media Club and has served as the General Manager of Findlay's on-campus radio station, 88.3 WLFC. He has also worked as a sideline reporter and color commentator for Oilers basketball games, hosted his own podcast, has created content for the university's social media, and this year performed a spoken word poem at Findlay's Martin Luther King Jr. celebration. Jeremiah has also earned the opportunity to interview City of Findlay Mayor, Christina Muryn as well as University of Findlay President, Dr. Katherine Fell.

Recipients are recognized during the Symposium for Scholarship and Creativity awards ceremony in the spring. Each recipient is awarded a framed certificate and $1,000.
