Men's basketball preseason poll ranked third

Oilers Picked to Finish 3rd

The University of Findlay men's basketball team was picked to finish third in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) this season as the league office unveiled their annual Preseason Coaches Poll presented by Under Armour on Oct. 28.

The Oilers finished with 79 points and one first place vote in the poll. Hillsdale College was picked as the favorite with 91 points and five first place votes and were followed by Ashland University with 90 points and four first place votes.

The Oilers went 18-5 last season with a 17-4 record in conference play. The team will be led by junior Nathan Bruns who earned first team all-conference honors during the 2020-21 campaign. Bruns averaged 13.7 points and 5.7 rebounds per game and shot 55.7 percent from the floor last year.

Senior Anthony Masterlasco is also back after posting averages of 11.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per contest.
