Oilers to Host Ferris | Travel to Parkside

The Oilers will host Ferris State University on Nov. 23 at 7pm in Niekamp Arena before traveling to Kenosha, Wis. to take on the University of Wisconsin-Parkside at 4pm on Nov. 27.

Series Information (Ferris State)

The Oilers hold a 22-12 advantage over Ferris State in their all-time series. The two programs first met during the 1962-63 campaign when the Bulldogs were victorious by a score of 79-66.

In their last meeting, Ferris State beat Findlay 89-78 in Big Rapids, Mich.

The Oilers jumped out to a 34-17 lead midway through the first half and were up 42-35 at the break. They then built a 63-45 lead with 12 minutes to play in the game before the Bulldogs took over and took the lead at 70-69 with just under six minutes to play. The Bulldogs then outscored the Oilers 20-8 the rest of the way to pick up the win.

The Bulldogs forced 25 Findlay turnovers and held a 39-34 advantage on the boards in the game. The Oilers meanwhile shot 54.7 percent (29-of-53) from the floor and canned 8-of-19 (42.1%) attempts from three point range in the contest.

Aaron Overhiser led the Oilers with 17 points and eight rebounds while Tommy Schmock had 16 points, 13 assists, and five rebounds.

Anthony Masterlasco chipped in 12 points while Nathan Bruns nearly had a double-double with ten points and nine rebounds.

The Bulldogs were led by Dorian Aluyi's 19 points.

Series Information (Wisconsin-Parkside)

The Oilers currently own a 5-0 lead in the all-time series against the Rangers dating back to the 1970-71 campaign when Findlay claimed an 82-73 win.

The two programs last met during the 2019-20 season when Findlay earned a 61-32 win in Croy.

The Oilers limited the Rangers to a mere 25.5 percent (12-of-47) from the floor and a 0-of-16 showing from behind the three point line. The 32 points allowed by the Oilers was also the lowest total an opponent has scored on Findlay since the 1949-50 campaign when the Oilers claimed a 58-31 win over Indiana Tech.

Findlay meanwhile hit on 40 percent (24-of-60) of their field goal attempts and held a 46-29 advantage on the boards. They also forced a season-high 23 turnovers in the victory.

Aaron Overhiser led the Oilers with 19 points and ten boards. He made 8-of-16 attempts from the field and also chipped in three steals.

Anthony Masterlasco had 11 points, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals, while Andrew Emrick came off the bench to provide seven points and three rebounds.

Tommy Schmock only netted two points on the evening, but had seven assists, four rebounds, and four steals.

Findlay

The Oilers are 2-2 on the season. Nathan Bruns leads the team with averages of 13.8 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. Tre'Maine Gray is averaging 12.8 points per contest while Anthony Masterlasco is scoring 11.5 points per outing.

The Bulldogs are 4-0 on the season and averaging 95.3 points per game. Walt Keiser leads the team in scoring at 26.8 points per outing, making 4.0 three pointers per game.

Ben Davidson (14.0), Dorian Aluyi (12.0), and Lee Higgins (12.0) are also averaging in double figures.
