Oilers to Host Cedarville | Ohio Dominican

The Oilers will host Cedarville University and Ohio Dominican University this week in Niekamp Arena. They will play the Yellow Jackets on Dec. 9 at 7:30pm before hosting the Panthers on Dec. 11 at 3pm.

Series Information (Cedarville)

The Oilers hold a 78-25 advantage in the all-time series against Cedarville as the two programs have been meeting on the hardwood since 1910. In their first meeting, the Yellow Jackets came away with a 32-30 win over Findlay.

The Oilers split their regular season series with the Yellow Jackets last season as each team scored a road victory. Cedarville defeated Findlay 90-84 in overtime on Feb. 8 in Niekamp Arena and the Oilers beat the Yellow Jackets 65-61 on Feb. 24 in Cedarville. The Yellow Jackets then ended the Oilers season with a 76-73 win in the G-MAC Semifinals.

In the tournament loss, the Oilers shot 45.8 percent (27-of-59) from the floor while the Yellow Jackets converted 47.1 percent (24-of-48) of their field goal attempts. Findlay made 11 three pointers, but converted only 8-of-15 (53.3%) of their free throw attempts. In comparison, Cedarville canned eight three pointers and made 20-of-26 (76.9%) attempts from the charity stripe.

Individually, Tommy Schmock led the way with 16 points, five rebounds, and five assists while Nathan Bruns had 15 points, six rebounds, and three assists.

Tre'Maine Gray recorded 15 points while Joey Edmonds scored 11 points.

The Yellow Jackets had five players score in double figures and were led by Quinton Green's 17 points.

Series Information (Ohio Dominican)

The Oilers own a 38-8 advantage in the all-time series against Ohio Dominican dating back to the 1969-70 campaign when they were victorious by a score of 87-69.

The Oilers came away with a pair of victories against the Panthers last year, winning 96-60 at home and 62-52 on the road.

In the home victory, the Oilers led 40-38 at the break and then blew the game wide open in the second half as they outscored the Panthers by a 56-22 margin. They ended the game by hitting 57.6 percent (38-of-66) of their shot attempts and made 13-of-24 (54.2%) of their three point attempts. They also recorded 25 assists and came away with ten steals in the victory.

Nathan Bruns led the Oilers with 16 points and seven rebounds while Tre'Maine Gray and Tommy Schmock had 14 points apiece. Gray made all six of his field goal attempts while Schmock chipped in eight assists and four steals.

In the road win, Andrew Owens led the way with 17 points on 8-of-13 shooting. He also added six rebounds and two steals.

Deven Stover and Nathan Bruns had nine points apiece while Anthony Masterlasco finished with seven points and nine rebounds.

Findlay

The Oilers are 5-3 on the season with a 1-1 record in league play. Nathan Bruns leads the team in scoring at 14.3 points per contest and is also averaging a team-high 6.9 rebounds per outing.

Tre'Maine Gray (11.9), Joey Edmonds (11.8), and Anthony Masterlasco (11.4) are also averaging in double figures.
