Oilers to Host Ohio Christian | Travel to Lake Erie

The Oilers will host Ohio Christian on Dec. 29 at 7:30 p.m. before traveling to Painesville, Ohio on Dec. 31 to battle Lake Erie. The game against the Storm is scheduled to tip at 1pm.

Series Information (Ohio Christian)

The Oilers will be playing the Trailblazers for the first time in program history.

Series Information (Lake Erie)

The Oilers hold a 30-2 advantage in the all-time series against Lake Erie dating back to the 1988-89 campaign when Findlay was victorious by a score of 84-51.

The Oilers scored two wins against Lake Erie last season, winning 83-67 at home and 72-62 on the road.

In the home win, the Oilers shot 50.8 percent (33-of-65) from the floor and limited the Storm to a 37.7 percent (26-of-69) shooting clip. They also held a 41-34 advantage on the boards and came away with eight steals in the game.

Anthony Masterlasco led Findlay with 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting while Andrew Owens had 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting.

In the road victory, the Oilers struggled from the field all game, hitting only 34.9 percent (22-of-63) of their shot attempts, but came away with ten steals while holding a 44-35 advantage on the glass. They also made 23-of-31 (74.2%) attempts from the free throw line while the Storm converted only 1-of-7 (14.3%) of their tries from the charity stripe.

Nathan Bruns paced Findlay with 23 points and 11 rebounds while Tommy Schmock had 17 points, five rebounds, four steals, and three assists. Bruns made 9-of-17 shot attempts while Schmock converted all ten of his free throw tries in the win.

Findlay

The Oilers are 7-5 on the year with a 2-3 record in league play. Nathan Bruns leads the team with averages of 13.8 points and 6.8 rebounds per game while Joey Edmonds is contributing 12.5 points per contest.

Anthony Masterlasco and Tre'Maine Gray are also averaging in double figures at 12.1 and 11.8 points per game, respectively.
