Oilers to Face Ferris St. in NCAA Regional

The Oilers will travel to Canton, Ohio on March 11 for the first round of the 2022 NCAA DII National Tournament. They will play Ferris State University at 2:30 p.m.

Series Information

The Oilers hold a 23-12 advantage over Ferris State in their all-time series. The two programs first met during the 1962-63 campaign when the Bulldogs were victorious by a score of 79-66.

Earlier this season the Oilers scored an 86-74 win over the then ranked 14th Bulldogs. The Oilers built a 71-51 lead midway through the second half before Ferris State came storming back to get within five points at 79-74 with just over a minute to play. Joey Edmonds then buried a big three pointer on the ensuing possession and the Oilers went 4-for-4 from the line down the stretch to seal the victory.

Findlay hit 48.3 percent (29-of-60) of their field goal attempts and made 7-of-15 (46.7%) attempts from behind the three point line in the game. They also made 21-of-26 (80.8%) attempts from the free throw line and came away with ten steals in the victory.

Ethan Linder came off the bench to provide a career-high 21 points on 7-of-14 shooting. Linder also made all three of his three point attempts and grabbed six rebounds.

Edmonds had a big game as well, scoring 19 points to go along with three assists and three steals while Nathan Bruns posted 13 points and five rebounds.

Deven Stover provided a spark off the bench and finished with 11 points in 13 minutes while Anthony Masterlasco also reached double figures with ten points to go along with four rebounds and three steals.

Findlay

The Oilers are 19-10 on the season and have been led by Nathan Bruns, who is averaging 14.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.

Tre'Maine Gray (12.7), Anthony Masterlasco (11.8), and Joey Edmonds (10.3) are also averaging in double figures.

Ferris State

The Bulldogs are 21-8 on the season. They are coming off of a 91-90 loss to Davenport University in the quarterfinal round of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Tournament.

The Bulldogs feature one of the more potent offensive attacks in the nation as they average 87.4 points per game. Wal kelser leads the team in scoring at 18.8 points per contest while Dorian Aluyi is contributing 12.5 points per outing.

Ben Davidson (12.1), Lee Higgins (12.0), and Logan Ryan (11.3) are all averaging in double figures as well.
