Oilers Finish Third at Doc Spragg Fall Invitational | Professori and Foltz Earn All -Tournament Honors

Findlay, OhioThe University of Findlay men's golf team finished in third place today Tuesday, Sep. 21, at the Doc Spragg Fall Invitational at Findlay Country Club. The Oilers shot a 54- hole score of 869 (290, 291, 288).  

The Oilers were led by sophomore Donnie Professori who shot three- under par (71,74,68). He finished in a tie for fifth place individually earning himself a spot on the all- tournament team. Professori dominated the front nine today in which he carded five birdies and a bogey before going even par on the back nine. Professori led the field in par four scoring playing them at an average of 3.93 (-2) and led the field in the total number of birdies made with 15.  

Alongside Professori, was senior Tanner Grzegorczyk. Grzegorczyk would finish two-under par (68, 72, 74) and finish in a tie for eighth. Caleb Westfall and Justin Atkinson would contribute to the team both shooting seven-over par on the 54 holes. Senior Caleb Westfall opened with a 71 (-1) in his first round, 74 (+2) in the second round, and finished today with a 73 (+1) Sophomore Justin Atkinson shot rounds of 75, 71, and 77 today. Rounding out the lineup is senior Parker Haynes who shot 76 (+4) in the first round before signing an incorrect scorecard that led to a disqualification in the second round. He was able to contribute to the team score today with a 73 (+1).  

The Oilers also had two other teams competing in the event.  

Findlay's B squad shot a 54- hole score of 884 (289, 296, 299). They would finish in ninth place.  

Leading Findlay's B squad was senior Hunter Foltz. Foltz finished tied for fifth after being five-under on day one (70,69). He rounded out the tournament with a 74 (+2) today. He would join teammate Grzegorczyk in earning all-tournament honors.  

Assisting Foltz was freshman Tyler Vallee. Vallee climbed the leaderboard after being three-over for the two rounds (73,74) by posting a 71 (-1) today. This put him in a tie for 20th. Jonathan Greene ended the tournament in a tie for 49th at ten-over par (72,77, 77). Rounding out the B squad were junior Nathan Osborne and senior Brock Kehres. Kehres finished in a tie for 62nd at twelve-over par (75, 76, 77). Osborne finished in a tie for 74th at sixteen- over par (74, 77, 81).  

Findlay's C squad shot a 54-hole score of 945 (303, 321, 321). This put them in fourteenth place in the field.  

Leading Findlay's C squad was junior Connor Ohlrich. Ohlrich finished eleven-over for the tournament (73,77, 77) leaving him in a tie for 55th.  Joining him was junior Holden Scribner who was twenty-two-over par for the rounds (78, 80, 79) and puts him in 82nd place. Also on the C squad was junior Jack Soper who finished twenty-seven-over par (74, 85, 83) which leaves him in 86th place. Rounding out the C squad are Luke Gazarek and Blake Steiner who both tied for 87th at twenty- eight- over par. Sophomore Luke Gazarek shot 78, 80, 86. Freshman Blake Steiner shot 78, 84, 82.  

Competing as individuals in the event were sophomores Austin Boley and Zach Crane. Austin Boley finished in 78th place after being eighteen-over par for the 54 holes (81, 75, 78). Zach Crane finished in a tie for 83rd after rounds of twenty-four- over par (74, 84, 82). 

The Oilers will be back in action Oct. 4 and 5 at the Kyle Ryman Invitational at Mohawk Country Club hosted by Tiffin University.
