Oilers in 3rd | Green Ties School Record

The University of Findlay men's golf team is tied for third after day one of the Kyle Ryman Memorial, which is being held at Mohawk Golf and Country Club in Tiffin, Ohio. The Oilers shot a 3-under par 36-hole score of 573 (282, 291) on the first day of competition, the fourth-lowest total in school history.

Individually, sophomore Justin Atkinson led the Oilers with a 4-under par score of 140 (70, 70) and is tied for third at the event while senior Tanner Grzegorczyk posted a 2-under par score of 142 (70, 72), good for ninth at the tournament.

Sophomore Donnie Professori posted a 1-over par score of 145 (72, 73) and is tied for 26th while senior Hunter Foltz fired a 2-over par score of 146 (70, 76) and is tied for 33rd. Senior Caleb Westfall also competed for Findlay and is tied for 42nd with a 148 (72, 76).

The Oilers also sent a "B" team to the event and they are in fifth place with a 1-over par score of 577 (291, 286). The team was led by freshman Jonathan Green who is in first place with a 7-under par score of 137 (72, 65). Green's 65 in the second round tied the school record for the lowest 18-hole mark in school history and his 137 after 36 holes is the second-lowest ever.

Junior Connor Ohlrich is tied for 17th with a 1-under par score of 143 (70, 73) while senior Brock Kehres is tied for 42nd with a 148 (75, 73).

Senior Parker Haynes is tied for 47th with a 149 (74, 75) while freshman Tyler Vallee is tied for 69th with a 155 (78,77).

As a team, the Oilers posted a tournament-best -11 under par on par-5's on day one while the "B" team went 9-under. Green leads the field with 13 total birdies while Atkinson has 12.

The third and final round will take place tomorrow.
