Oilers Lead SVSU Invite After Day 1

Lexington, Ky.- The University of Findlay men's golf team is currently in first place at the SVSU Spring Invitational, which wrapped up round one today on Mar. 19 at Kearney Hills Golf Club. The Oilers shot a seven-over par score of 295 on Saturday and lead the field by three. 

Leading the Oilers was junior Nathan Osborn. This was Osborn's first call to the starting lineup due to an ongoing wrist issue. He is sits in second after posting an even par 72. He carded four birdies, four bogeys, and ten pars on the day.

Senior Tanner Grzegorczyk is right behind Osborn and is in third with a one-over par score of 73. Following Grzegorczyk was sophomore Donnie Professori and senior Hunter Foltz who both shot rounds of 75, three-over par. They are both tied for tenth. Rounding out the lineup was sophomore Justin Atkinson who is tied for 20th after posting a four-over par round of 76. 

The Oilers dominated the par fives playing them eleven-under par as a team, the best of any team in the field. They also led the field with 14 total birdies. 

Competing as individuals in the event were seniors Parker Haynes and Brock Kehres. Haynes shot a four-over par round of 76. He is tied for 20th. Kehres posted a seven-over par score of 79. He is tied for 46th. 

The Oilers will be back in action again tomorrow, Mar. 20 for the final 18-holes of competition.
