Oilers Take Runner-Up | Grzegorczyk Named All-Tournament

Lexington, Ky.- The University of Findlay men's golf team finished in second place at the SVSU Spring Invitational, which wrapped up play today, Mar. 20 at Kearney Hills Golf Club. The Oilers shot 13-over par (295,294). The Oilers fell to the University of Southern Indiana by one shot.  

Leading the Oilers was senior Tanner Grzegorczyk. He finished even par (73,71) and tied for third. He picked up all-tournament honors.Grzegorczyk led the field in par five scoring. He averaged 4.13 and played them seven-under par for the two days. He also carded one eagle. 

Senior Hunter Foltz finished behind Grzegorczyk. He finished four-over par (75,73) and finished in tied for 17th. Following Foltz was sophomore Donnie Professori who finished tied for 20th place after finishing five-over par (75,74). Junior Nathan Osborn finished in 27th place with a score of seven-over par (72,79). Rounding out the lineup was sophomore Justin Atkinson who finished tied for 34th at eight-over par (76,76).  

Competing as individuals in the event were seniors Parker Haynes and Brock Kehres. Kehres finished tied for 9th with a score of two-over par (79,67). Kehres' 67 was the lowest round in the tournament. It is also his career-low round and the third lowest round in program history. He carded eight birdies on the day. Haynes meanwhile finished at four-over par (76,72) and tied for 17th.  

Findlay played the par fives better than any team in the field. They played them 19-under par and averaged 4.53 on the weekend. They also recorded 29 birdies over the two rounds, the third best in the field. 

The Oilers will be back in action again, Mar. 28 and Mar. 29 for their home tournament for the Findlay Spring Invitational in Lexington, Ky. at the University of Club at Kentucky- Big Blue Course.
