Wheeling, WV – The University of Findlay men's golf team wrapped up competition at the West Liberty Invitational on Tuesday, April 5 at the Palmer Course at Oglebay Resort in Wheeling, West Virginia. After putting up historic numbers in Monday's first round, the Oilers shot a 285 (+1) on Tuesday to close out the tournament with a 54-hole score of 830 (-22), good enough for runner-up in the event behind Indianapolis who shot an 817 (-35). Findlay's score establishes a new three-round program record, breaking the old mark of 845 that was posted at the Kyle Ryman Memorial in the fall of 2020.

Individually, senior Tanner Grzegorczyk finished runner-up after a third consecutive round in the 60s. The standout from Pennsylvania birdied three of his final five holes to shoot 67 (-4) on Tuesday, giving him a 54-hole score of 202 (-11). That score shatters the previous school record of 208 that had been done twice, once by Sam Griffith ('20) and once by current sophomore Justin Atkinson.

Atkinson also had a special two-day stretch on the course, finishing in a tie for third overall with a score of 204 (-9) which, after Grzegorczyk's score, is now the second-best 54-hole total in program history. The standout sophomore for Findlay also had three rounds in the 60s this week, posting a final round score of 69 (-2).

Sophomore Donnie Professori, after shooting a 30 on his final nine-hole stretch of Monday's second round, fired a third round 75 (+4) to finish in 12th with a 212 (-1) for the event. Professori's 212 is tied for the seventh-best 54-hole score in program history.

Rounding out the scoring for the Oilers were seniors Brock Kehres and Parker Haynes who both finished in a tie for 18th in the event. Kehres shot 75 (+4) on Tuesday while Haynes posted a 74 (+3), both arriving at a 54-hole score of 216 (+3).

Individuals Nathan Osborn and Hunter Foltz closed out their event, finishing in a tie for 29th and a tie for 33rd, respectively. Osborn shot a 72 (+1) on Tuesday while Foltz shot 73 (+2).

Findlay will now turn its attention to the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Championship which will be played in Lexington, Kentucky at the University Club of Kentucky's Big Blue Course on April 15 and 16.
