Noblesville, Ind. – The University of Findlay men's golf team concluded the second round of the 2022 NCAA DII Midwest/Central Regional, which is being held in Noblesville, Indiana at Purgatory Golf Club, on Friday, May 6. Due to weather, the Oilers play just half of a round on Friday after completing roughly 30 holes on the first day of competition. The event was scheduled to be three 18-hole rounds played on three separate days and, through two days, two rounds are now complete which leaves Saturday's final round to be played as originally scheduled.

With six spots to the Division II National Championship at stake, there are 11 teams within nine shots of eachother. Arkansas Tech sits in third at 593 (+17) and Tiffin University is in 13th at 602 (+26). In between those schools are McKendree, Findlay, Indianapolis, Missouri-St. Louis, Southern Indiana, Trevecca Nazarene, Wayne State, Rogers State, and Harding, all of which have legitimate chances of making a push in the final round and earning a trip to TPC Michigan for the national championship tournament.

Through 36 holes of play, the Oilers are now in a tie for fifth on a tightly contested team leaderboard. After finding themselves in a tie for 11th through the first 30 holes, Findlay jumped up the leaderboard, closing out their second round with some solid play in less than ideal weather conditions.

Findlay's players had anywhere from nine holes to six holes remaining in their second rounds and, of the team's countable scores, the Oilers played those closing holes at three-under, catapulting the squad up the leaderboard and into contention.

Senior Parker Haynes finds himself in a tie for 12th, closing out his second round on Friday by shooting two-under on his final eight holes. That effort gives him a second-round score of 72 (E) and a 36-hole score of 145 (+1).

Playing his final eight holes at even-par was senior Tanner Grzegorczyk who climbed five spots on the individual leaderboard to a tie for 25th. He closed his second round by playing six holes at even-par to shoot 76 (+4), giving him a two-round total of 148 (+4).

Sophomore Donnie Professori and senior Brock Kehres both carded a 75 (+3) in their second rounds. Professori closed his day with a birdie on the final hole while Kehres played the remainder of his day at even-par. Professori is currently in T48 at 151 (+7) and Kehres is T54 at 152 (+8).

Sophomore Justin Atkinson rounds out the lineup after posing a second round score of 83 (+11) and is +15 for the tournament (159).
