Oilers Finish Fourteenth at NCAA Championship | Conclude Season

Detroit, Mich.- The University of Findlay men's golf team concluded round three of the 2022 NCAA Division II National Championship with a 302 (+14) on May 18 at TPC Michigan. They finished fourteenth with a three-day total of 916 (+52). With their finish today, the Oilers have concluded their 2021-22 campaign. 

Leading the Oilers at the event was sophomore Donnie Professori who finished tied for 46th. Professori, an all-Midwest region selection, carded rounds of 78, 79, and 72 (229) to finish at thirteen-over par.  Professori recorded four birdies, four bogeys, and ten pars on the day.

Following Professori was senior Parker Haynes and sophomore Justin Atkinson. Haynes, who played his final round in the orange and black today, finished in a tie for 51st after rounds of 79, 75, and 76 (230) to come in at fourteen-over par for the tournament. Meanwhile, Atkinson also finished at fourteen-over par. He carded rounds of 72, 78, and 80 (230).

Senior Tanner Grzegorczyk, who was also named all-Midwest region, finished the tournament at sixteen-over par. He shot rounds of 76, 79, and 77 (232) to finish in a tie for 65th. Rounding out the lineup was senior Brock Kehres. Kehres, who played his final round for the Oilers today, finished at eighteen-over par. Kehres carded rounds of 80, 77, and 77 (234) to finish in a tie for 70th. 

This was Findlay's first ever appearance at the NCAA Division II National Championship as the last time the Oilers made it to a national tournament it was the NAIA Golf Championship in 1999. The Oilers completed their season with one tournament win and five runner-up finishes.
