Oilers Beat Ashland | Win Regular Season Conference Title

The University of Findlay men's tennis team defeated Ashland University by a score of 4-2 on April 16 in Ashland, Ohio to give them a share of the 2022 Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) regular season title. The win, which gave the Oilers their first conference title in program history, pushes the Oilers record to 11-11 record on the season. They finish the year with a 5-1 mark in conference play.

The Oilers won four singles matches to seal the deal as sophomore Wilfredo Lara, freshman Dallas Ramsey, junior Andrew Codita, and junior Octavio Carrasco secured the trophy for the team.

Lara picked up a 7-5, 6-3 win over Jordan Phelps in No. 3 singles competition while Ramsey won 6-3, 6-2 over Tche Kun Teng in No. 4 singles. Codita picked up a 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory over Fabian Bussard at No. 5 singles and Carrasco secured a 6-3, 6-1 win over Omar Prince in No. 6 singles action.
