Stollings Qualifies for US Olympic Trials

Findlay, Ohio – University of Findlay sophomore swimmer Tim Stollings will get his chance to compete against the best swimmers in the country as he has qualified for the 2021 U.S. Olympic Trials which will be held at the Chi Health Center Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska. Due to COVID-19 challenges, the trials will be held in two waves. Stollings qualified for Wave I and his event will be held on Sunday, June 6. Wave II will be held the following week, June 13-20.

Stollings, already a four-time all-American, qualified for the trials in the 100 butterfly where he swam a time of 54.08. Should he finish in the top two in Wave I or swim a time of 53.37 or better, he would be invited back for Wave II. Only the top two finishers in each of the 13 events will be selected to compete for the U.S. Olympic Team at this summer's Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.

This past season, Stollings, a Prichard, West Virginia native, had an outstanding sophomore campaign in which he set four individual school records, won seven conference championships, helped the team to it's fourth consecutive Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) title, and won the first NCAA Division II National Championship in an event in program history.
