Eagles Fly Past Oilers

The University of Findlay women's basketball team lost to Ashland University by a score of 80-55 on Thursday, Jan. 23 in Croy Gymnasium.

The Oilers, who fall to 7-8 on the year with the loss, only shot 25.4 percent (17-of-67) from the floor, which included a 2-of-19 (10.5%) showing from three point range.  The Eagles meanwhile hit 58.8 percent (30-of-51) of their shot attempts and canned 10-of-19 (52.6%) shots from behind the three point line.

Sophomore forward Margaret Wuebker led the Oilers with 21 points on 7-of-16 shooting.  She also added four rebounds, three steals and a block in the game.

Junior guard Nikki Gunning had nine points and two steals off the bench while junior guard Ciara Geiger contributed seven points, four rebounds and an assist in the loss.

The Eagles were led by Taylor Woods, who scored a game-high 25 points.

Findlay will be back at home on Saturday to host Lake Erie College at 1 p.m.
