Beasley Leads Oilers to 85-68 Win Over Storm

The University of Findlay women's basketball defeated Lake Erie College by a score of 85-68 on Saturday, Feb. 15 in Painesville, Ohio.  The win gives the Oilers an 11-12 record on the season with an 8-11 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

Senior guard Karli Beasley led the way as she poured in a career-high 22 points on 7-of-10 shooting. 

Beasley made a career-high four three pointers in the game and also stuffed the stat sheet with four assists, four steals, three rebounds and a block in 30 minutes of playing time.

Freshman guard Karli Bonar added 14 points, four rebounds and three assists while junior guard Nikki Gunning also reached double figures with ten points to go along with three steals and two boards.

Sophomore forward Margaret Wuebker, junior guard Ciara Geiger and junior forward Lacey Kessler all chipped in eight points during the victory as well for Findlay.

The Oilers shot 45.6 percent (26-of-57) from the floor and canned 11-of-30 (36.7%) shot attempts from behind the three point line.  Findlay also forced 27 turnovers and came away with 17 steals in the game.

The Storm shot 43.9 percent (25-of-57) from the floor and were led by Chrissy Delaney's 22 points and eight rebounds.

The Oilers will return to the hardwood again on Feb. 20 when they face Walsh University at 5:30 p.m. in Canton, Ohio.
