Preseason coaches poll for the G-MAC

Oilers Picked to Finish 5th

The University of Findlay women's basketball team was picked to finish fifth in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) this season as the league office unveiled their annual Preseason Coaches Poll presented by Under Armour on Oct. 27.

The Oilers finished in a tie for fifth with Tiffin University in the poll as each program racked up 82 points. Walsh University was picked as the favorite with 116 points and seven first place votes while Ashland University was picked second with 112 points and five first place votes.

The Oilers went 12-11 last season with an 11-10 record in conference play. Senior Sydney Kin returns to lead the team after earning first team all-conference honors a season ago. Kin averaged 21.4 points and 9.3 rebounds per game while shooting 60.1 percent from the floor.

Senior Bridget Landin is also back after being named second team all-conference while senior Amber Schweiger returns after securing a spot on the all-defensive team in 2020-21. Landin averaged 12.9 points and 8.2 rebounds per game while Schweiger posted averages of 10.7 points, 5.6 assists, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.2 steals per contest.

Senior Paige Bellman also returns after averaging 9.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game last season.
