Oilers Host Davenport | Grand Valley St. this Week

The University of Findlay women's basketball team will host Davenport University on Nov. 19 at 5:30pm before taking on Grand Valley State University on Nov. 21 at 1pm in Niekamp Arena.

Series Information (Davenport)

The Oilers currently trail 1-0 in the all-time series against Davenport dating back to the 2019-20 campaign when the Panthers came away with a 73-70 victory over the Oilers.

Neither team shot the ball well, but Findlay did hold the advantage, making 23-of-61 (.377) to just 21-of-73 (.288) for the Panthers. Both teams drilled ten shots from beyond the arc and rebounds were fairly even with the Oilers holding a 49-44 advantage. The difference in the game was turnovers. Findlay committed 27 turnovers which led to 25 points for Davenport while the Panthers only turned the ball over 16 times leading to just seven points for the Oilers.

Elizabeth Flynn scored 13 points off the bench on 5-of-10 from the floor and 3-of-4 from deep. She added three rebounds, as well.

Bridget Landin and Paige Bellman each recorded double-doubles in the game. Landin scored 12 points and grabbed 13 rebounds while Bellman scored ten points and also had 13 rebounds. Landin rounded out a solid stat sheet with three assists and three steals.

Also scoring in double-figures was Sydney Kin who poured in 12 points on a perfect 4-of-4 from the field. She also had three rebounds, two steals, and two blocks.

Series Information (Grand Valley St.)

The Oilers trail in the all-time series against Grand Valley State by a 16-7 margin dating back to the 1997-98 campaign when the Lakers scored a 68-52 win over Findlay.

The two programs last met during the 2019-20 campaign when Grand Valley State claimed an 88-63 win.

Grand Valley was on fire from the floor, making more than 50% (34-of-66) of their attempts from the field while the Oilers managed to shoot 36% (23-of-64). The Lakers also held a big advantage on the boards, grabbing 38 rebounds to just 26 for the Oilers.

Amber Schweiger, Sydney Kin, and Bridget Landin each scored in double-figures and combined for 43 of the team's 63 points. Schweiger led the way with 17 while Kin chipped in 14 and Landin scored 12. Kin and Landin each had seven rebounds in the game while Schweiger led the squad with three assists.

Paige Bellman scored six points and recorded a team-high eight rebounds.

Findlay

The Oilers are 0-2 on the season. Senior forward Sydney Kin leads the team in scoring at 14.5 points per game to go along with 8.0 rebounds per contest.
