Findlay Opens Conference Play with Trip to TNU and KWC

The University of Findlay women's basketball team hits the road for their longest G-MAC trip of the season as they head to take on Trevecca Nazarene and Kentucky Wesleyan this weekend on Dec. 3 and Dec. 5. Thursday's game against TNU will begin at 6:30 pm while Saturday's contest against KWC will start at 1:00 pm.

Series Information (Trevecca Nazarene)

Findlay currently holds a 5-2 record against Trevecca in the all-time series. The two teams first played in the 2015-16 season opener, a game Findlay won 76-58. The last contest was in January of this year in Nashville, a win for the Trojans 79-73.

Series Information (Kentucky Wesleyan)

Findlay trails in the series with KWC as they have a 5-6 record against the Panthers. The series began in 2014, an 80-54 win in Croy for the Oilers. KWC won the latest matchup 77-57 in last year's G-MAC Tournament. The Panthers have won six of the last eight matchups between the two schools.

Findlay

The Oilers are 1-3 on the young season after splitting their previous two contests, picking up a comeback win against Davenport and later falling to Grand Valley State, both at home.

Findlay has been led by their standout forward Sydney Kin who is averaging 18.3 points per game and scored a season-high 26 points against Davenport. The Carey, Ohio native is moving up the all-time scoring chart at Findlay as she is now 15th all-time with 1,157 points scored.

Trevecca Nazarene

TNU comes into the G-MAC opening weekend with a 1-5 record on the season with the only win coming against Alabama-Hunstville on Nov. 18. The Trojans are being outscored by an average of almost 14 points per game this season.

Sophomore Keeley Carter is the team's leading scorer at 14.7 points per game while junior Faith Wilken is scoring 10.2 and freshman Emma Palmer scores 9.5. Walken is TNU's leading rebounder, as well, as she grabs 7.0 boards per game. Emma Palmer is collecting eight. Kin is also tied with senior Bridget Landin for the team lead with 8.5 rebounds per game, thus far. Landin is also scoring in double-figures at 11.3 ppg.

Kentucky Wesleyan

Participants in the G-MAC Championship game last season, the Panthers are off to a slow start by their recent standards having lost three of their six games to start the year. However, of those three wins, one came by a single point against the #2 team in the country, the Drury Panthers. Since that big win, KWC has lost three of four including a loss to Lynn University on Nov. 27.

Tahlia Walton is the Panthers' leading scorer at 18.8 points per game while Cali Nolot is second with 14.7 ppg. Jordyn Barga leads the squad with 5.7 rebounds per game while Nolot grabs 4.5 and Walton grabs 4.2 rpg.
