Oilers Fall to Walsh

The University of Findlay women's basketball team fell 72-59 against Walsh University on Jan. 8 in Niekamp Arena. The loss gives the Oilers a 5-9 record on the season with a 3-5 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).

The Oilers shot 44.4 percent (20-of-45) from the floor, but turned the ball over 25 times in the loss. They were also outrebounded by a 34-27 margin and gave up 11 offensive rebounds in the game.

Sophomore guard Kate Ellis came off the bench to lead the Oilers in scoring with a career-high 16 points in only 15 minutes of action. Senior forward Sydney Kin also played well with 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting.

Senior forward Bridget Landin reached double figures with ten points to go along with five rebounds while freshman guard Janae Hoying had seven points, three assists, two steals, and two rebounds.

The Cavaliers were led by Sha Carter's 25 points, eight rebounds, and five assists.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Jan. 13 when they host Tiffin University at 5:30 p.m.
