Oilers Pick Up 64-55 Road Win at Walsh

North Canton, Ohio - The University of Findlay women's basketball proved victorious over Walsh University Cavaliers on Saturday, Feb. 4 by a score of 64-55. This brings their record to 6-17 with a 3-12 mark in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play while Cavaliers move to 9-13 and 7-8 in conference play.

Findlay was losing in the first quarter by one point. In the second quarter, Oilers went on a 13-0 run to take back control of the game and gained a nine-point lead. In the third quarter, the Cavaliers battled back and were only down by four points. Findlay hit their free throws down the stretch to hang on for the nine-point victory.

Senior Amber Schweiger had a career-high of 14 rebounds, six assists and six points. Junior Kate Ellis put up 12 points and had six rebounds. Freshman Alyssa Ziehler led the team with 13 points and seven rebounds.

The Oilers recorded 54 rebounds while Cavaliers only had 36. Findlay Made 32.9% (23-70) of their shots from the floor and Walsh made 36.7% (22-60).

The Oilers will be back in action on Thursday, Feb. 9 when they travel to Trevecca Nazarene. That contest will tip off at 6:30 pm.
