Oilers Beat Walsh 11-10 in Overtime

The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team defeated Walsh University by a score of 11-10 in overtime on April 10 at the Armstrong Sports Complex. The victory gives the Oilers a 6-5 record on the season with a 5-0 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).

The Oilers held a 10-8 lead with just over five minutes to play in regulation before the Cavaliers came storming back to tie the game with only a minute to play. Senior Liz Zatalava then ended the game with only 1:17 remaining in overtime with a golden goal to extend the Oilers winning streak to four games.

Zatalava had a huge game for Findlay with four goals while senior Allie Kasprzyk had two goals and four assists to go over the 100-point plateau for her career.

Freshman Olivia Alvarado and junior Izzy Murphy-Morrow each posted two goals while senior Kendra Lindell had one goal, one assist, six draws, and three ground balls.

Senior Chloe Nottingham picked up eight ground balls on defense while senior Alyson Lillibridge had five. Sophomore Erin Kodger also played well for Findlay's defense and finished with four caused turnovers and three ground balls.

Senior Rachel Bornstein picked up the victory by making 14 saves in goal.

The Oilers will be back in action again on April 16 when they host Tiffin University at 12pm.
