Oilers Win | Bornstein Breaks Saves Record

The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team defeated Ashland University by a score of 13-11 on April 24 in Ashland, Ohio. The win gives the Oilers an 8-6 record on the season with a 7-1 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).

The Eagles got off to a torrid start in the game and led 7-0 after the first quarter. The Oilers then out-scored the Eagles 13-4 in the remainder of the game to remain in a tie for the top spot in the G-MAC.

Freshman Olivia Alvarado led the Oilers with four goals while senior Allie Kasprzyk had three. Junior Izzy Murphy-Morrow added two goals while senior Liz Zatalava posted a goal and two assists.

Senior Rachel Bornstein picked up the win and made seven saves to go along with six ground balls. She also broke the school record for career saves in the victory as she now has 323.

The Oilers will be back in action again on April 29 when they host Ursuline College at 7pm.
