Lebanon, Illinois – The University of Findlay lacrosse team kicked off their 2023 season with a road trip west to Illinois to take on the McKendree Bearcats on Friday, Feb. 17. The Oilers fell 14-9 to the Bearcats giving Findlay a 0-1 record on the season.
Senior Danielle Dilorenzo had three goals, nine draw controls and two caused turnovers. Sophomore Olivia Alvarado had four goals, one ground ball and two draw controls.
Senior Izzy Murphy-Morrow had one goal, two draw controls and one groundball. Junior Madeline Shewbridge caused two turnovers and had two groundballs. Junior Angela Ramsey had one groundball and three caused turnovers.
Senior Rachel Bornstein allowed 14 shots in the net and made 14 saves in goal.
Findlay was unable to stop McKendree from taking the lead in the second half as the Bearcats outshot the Oilers 34-26 in the contest.
The Oilers will continue their road trip home, stopping to take on #8 Indianapolis Sunday, Feb. 19 at 1pm.
