Oilers Beat Ashland | Claim Regular Season Title

The 32nd-ranked University of Findlay women's tennis team defeated Ashland University by a score of 4-1 on April 16 in Ashland, Ohio to give them a share of the 2022 Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) regular season title. The win, which gave the Oilers their first conference title in program history, pushes the Oilers record to 14-8 record on the season. They finish the year with a 6-1 mark in conference play.

The Oilers won four singles matches to seal the deal as freshman Elina Ivanova, senior Samantha Sweet, freshman Zuzanna Krygier, and senior Laura Brito secured the trophy for the team.

Ivanova claimed a 6-1, 6-1 win over Kortney Reed in No. 2 singles action while Sweet won 6-3, 6-2 against Huntyr Lake in No. 3 singles competition. Krygier picked up a 7-6, 6-1 victory over Claudia Adcock in No. 4 singles while Brito won 6-2, 6-0 against Lydia Bice in No. 6 singles.
