Blevins Picks Up Third Player of the Week Award of the Season

Findlay, Ohio – The Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) announced their volleyball Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week on Wednesday, Oct. 27. Findlay freshman Journey Blevins picked up the North Division Offensive Player of the Week honors after helping lead the Oilers to a 2-0 record with wins over conference foes Tiffin University and Ashland University.

The Richwood, Ohio native started the week with a jaw dropping performance against Tiffin where, in three sets, she tallied 19 kills and recorded a hitting percentage of .515, her second-highest percentage of the season. Blevins also had eight digs and three aces in that victory. She then followed that up with 23 kills, 16 digs, and two blocks in a five-set thriller against Ashland on Saturday.

On the week, Blevins, now a three-time winner of Player of the Week this season, had 5.25 kills per set for a total of 42 kills while hitting .374. She had 24 digs, three blocks, three aces, and accounted for 47 points.

For the season, Findlay's standout freshman has 297 kills for 4.41 kills per set, both ranked second in the conference, and is also top-ten in hitting percentage.
