Blevins Earns Midwest Region Freshman of the Year from AVCA

Freshman Journey Blevins, who has already collected Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Freshman of the Year, first team all-conference, and first team D2CCA all-region, added to her collection of awards on Wednesday, Dec. 1. The Richwood, Ohio native has earned a spot on the All-Midwest Region First Team by the American Volleyball Coaches' Association (AVCA) and was also named Midwest Region Freshman of the Year.

This season, Blevins averaged 4.68 kills per set on the year, the third-best mark in the nation. A first team all-conference selection, Blevins also ranked fifth in the country in points per set at 5.0.

Blevins is the first player from Findlay to earn AVCA Freshman of the Year since Hailee Olson who did so in 2015. Olson was also named DII National Freshman of the Year that season.
