Journey Blevins Named Honorable Mention All-American by AVCA

AVCA All-American List

Findlay, Ohio - On Tuesday, Dec. 7, the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced the 40th Annual AVCA DII All-American awards. The 2021 AVCA all-American class includes 42 players—14 on the first, second, and third teams—from 29 schools. Findlay standout freshman Journey Blevins has earned her spot as an honorable-mention all-American after an incredible debut season with the Oilers.

Blevins, the AVCA Midwest Region and Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Freshman of the Year, averaged 4.68 kills per set on the year, the third-best mark in the nation. A first team all-conference selection, Blevins also ranked fifth in the country in points per set at 5.0.

The award for Blevins is the 14th AVCA all-American award earned by the Oilers since 2012 and is the first since 2018. Blevins is the first freshman at Findlay to pick up AVCA all-American status since Hailee Olson did so in 2015 and is the third freshman to earn all-American status (Nikyla Garverick '14).
