Meyer and Blevins Earn G-MAC Players of the Week

Findlay, Ohio – The Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) announced its Athlete of the Week selections for the previous seven-day period and in volleyball, the University of Findlay swept both the offensive and defensive honors in the North Division for the second consecutive week. Sophomore Journey Blevins picked up Offensive Player of the Week while senior Emma Meyer earned Defensive Player of the Week after guiding the Oilers to three wins this past week and ten consecutive wins dating back to Sep. 10. Findlay has now won seven G-MAC Player of the Week awards in volleyball, the most in the conference.

Blevins has been, quite simply, unstoppable this season. The sophomore standout led the Oilers to three wins after leading the team with 55 kills at a pace of 4.58 kills per set. She also added seven blocks and 25 digs to round out an incredible week. Blevins currently leads the G-MAC and ranks seventh in the country at 4.56 kills per set this season. This is the fourth consecutive week that Blevins has picked up the Player of the Week honor and the seventh of her career.

Emma Meyer had a big week on defense as she led the team with 19 blocks in the three wins. She also added 17 kills and seven digs. To date, Meyer ranks second in the G-MAC at 1.08 blocks per set. This is the second time in her career that Meyer has taken home Defensive Player of the Week.
