D2CCA All-Region Release

Findlay, Ohio - The Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) released their 2022 Volleyball Midwest All-Region selections for this past season and the University of Findlay had a pair of players selected. Sophomore Journey Blevins earned first team all-region while freshman Alana Pohlman earned second team all-region.

Blevins, who was named the 2022 Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Player of the Year last week, adds to an ever-growing list of awards. This season, the Richwood, Ohio native was second in the region and fourth in the country with 484 kills while her 4.61 kills/set ranked second in the region and fifth in the country. She was a scoring machine, posting 516.5 points this season, a rate of 4.9 points per set. That ranked eighth in the country and third in the Midwest region.

This is the second D2CCA first team all-region award for Blevins who was also a first team honoree in her freshman season. She then went on to earn honorable mention all-American by the organization. Findlay's outside hitter is the first player at UF since Hannah Tong (2015 & 2016) to earn back-to-back first team all-region by the D2CCA.

Earning a spot on second team all-region is redshirt freshman Alana Pohlman who quickly established herself as one of the top middle hitters in the region. This season, Pohlman picked up 287 kills while hitting .332 on the year. The Maria Stein, Ohio native also added 79 blocks and scored 3.05 points per set.

By being named first team all-region, Blevins will now advance to the all-American ballot. Those teams will be announced on Tuesday, Nov. 29.
