Bio

Scott Monroe is entering the eleventh year of his second stint as a coach for the Oilers volleyball team in 2023.  He returned to the program in 2013 after not having served on staff since 2005.  Overall, Monroe has been an assistant coach for thirteen years with the program.

Monroe served as the graduate assistant coach for the Oilers men’s and women’s volleyball programs while completing work on his MBA at Findlay.  Prior to joining the staff at UF, Scott spent three years as an assistant volleyball coach at Findlay High School.  During his three years there, the team compiled a 65-9 record.  The squad also won three Greater Buckeye Conference titles, a district championship and made a trip to the regional semifinals. 

Monroe also has an extensive amount of club coaching experience as the associate club director of Oiler Attack Club.  While pursuing his undergraduate degree in business, Scott was a member of the Oilers men’s volleyball team where in 2002, he was selected as the MIVA Player of the Week when he became the first Findlay men’s player to record 30 kills in a match. 

In 2004, Monroe was honored by Volleyball Magazine as February’s Player of the Month as well as leading the Oilers to its first ever victory over rival, The Ohio State University, in any sport.

Scott and his wife, Taryn, live in Cygnet, Ohio with their son Bennett and their daughter Poppy.
