Fisher Sets School Record at Royals Challenge

The University of Findlay men and women's cross country teams ran at the Royals Challenge Charlotte, N.C. on Oct. 8. The men's team took 11th with 299 points while the women finished ninth with 271 points.

On the men's side, sophomore Noah Fisher broke the school record in the 8,000-meter with a time of 23:45.9 to finish fifth overall. He eclipsed the previous record of 24:51, which was set by Mike Kempf in 1975. Fisher's time also set a new mark in the G-MAC, breaking the previous record by more than 20 seconds.

Freshman Kaden Harvey finished 43rd (24:37.1), freshman Jordan Foster finished 68th (24:58.6), freshman Zack Britton placed 117th (25:41.8), freshman Tyler Knestrick came in 125th (25:45.9), freshman Connor Hill placed 146th (26:03.8), freshman Dylan Hickey placed 150th (26:05.1), freshman Colin Moats placed 218th (27.02.3).

On the women's side, senior Gabrielle Lawrence finished 27th with a time of 18:10.8 giving her the second fastest time in school history.

Freshman Hailey Simmons finished 50th (18:31.6), freshman Ava Beam placed 58th (18:39.3), freshman Maya Hamsher placed 800th (18:58.7), freshman Natalie Dayharsh 97th (19:12.6), freshman Reilly Zozette finished 109th (19:20.4), freshman Sabrina Sciabica placed 116th (19:26.3), sophomore Meghan Donoher placed 118th (19:27.1), freshman Hailey Wilson placed 121st (19:28.9), freshman Justine Hunt finished 154th (19:53.0).

The Oilers will be back in action Oct. 23 at the G_MAC Championship in Cedarville, Ohio.
