Fisher & Lawrence Earn All-Region | Qualify for Nationals

Sophomore Noah Fisher and senior Gabrielle Lawrence of the Oilers men and women's cross country teams were each named all-Midwest Region by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Nov. 8.

Fisher, who won a Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) title and was named the conference runner of the year, finished eighth at the Midwest Regional with a school record-breaking time of 30:30. Fisher now is the first all-region performer for the Oilers men since Shaoyb Bascal in 2011, the only other all-region performer in program history.

Lawrence took 14th at the regional with a school record-breaking time of 21:29. Her efforts enabled her to become the first female runner at Findlay to achieve all-region status since Christine Zimmerman did so in 2011. She is the fifth woman in program history to earn all-region.

Additionally, both runners were selected to compete at the 2021 NCAA Division II National Championship on Nov. 20 in Tampa, Fla. Fisher will be the first men's runner in program history to compete at the national championship in the DII era while Lawrence's appearance at the event marks the first time a women's runner has qualified since 2006.
