Lauren Yacks Attends NCAA Leadership Forum

Findlay, OH – Earlier this month, junior softball player Lauren Yacks was selected as one of only three student-athletes in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) to attend the NCAA Leadership Forum held in Baltimore, Maryland. Consideration for selection into the forum was given to student-athletes that had a diverse representation of experiences and have had a positive influence on campus and within the community.

Over the course of the four day event, which ran from Nov. 10-13, attendees were given a chance to learn invaluable leadership skills, to explore how personal values shape relationships, to learn about how the NCAA operates as a whole, and to learn more about the role of Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

About the event, Yacks commented, "It (the NCAA Leadership Forum) is a rare occasion where over three hundred student-athletes, coaches, and administrators come together and connect on such a personal level. Through this experience, I gained a new perspective on who I am as an athlete, student, and leader. I am without a doubt a better student-athlete and leader than I was before attending this conference and that is most attributed to the remarkable people I was surrounded by".
