University of Findlay is requiring all spectators to be masked while watching sporting events on campus.

Face Coverings Required at All Indoor Events

The University of Findlay will begin to strictly enforce the policy of face coverings being worn at all indoor events, including athletic contests, in order to comply with new rules and regulations from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

"With the health and safety of our campus in mind, the university has adopted the University of Findlay Vaccination, Testing and Face Covering Policy that is compliant with the Oiler Start Safe & Stay Safe Plan, OSHA's Emergency Temporary Standard on Vaccination and Testing, and other laws and regulations currently in place," said Vice President of Student Affairs and Director of Athletics, Brandi Laurita. "Masks, covering the nose and mouth, are required in all campus buildings and all fans will be required to wear a mask for the entirety of athletic competitions."

The University of Findlay has relied on an honor system for compliance in wearing masks at all indoor sporting events up until this point. The new policy is that fans wishing to attend any home event inside the Croy Physical Education Center and the Koehler Fitness and Recreation Complex must adhere to these rules and regulations concerning face coverings or be subject to removal from the site of competition.

"We value the tremendous support our fans have shown our athletic programs and don't want to revisit last year when no fans were allowed," said Laurita. "Their energy at home events fuels our teams to success and we want to continue to have them create one of the best atmosphere's in all of NCAA Division II, while masked."

In addition, refreshments will no longer be sold during indoor competitions at the Croy Physical Education Center and Koehler Fitness and Recreation Complex.
