Bio

David Buck is in his 20th year at The University of Findlay and currently serves as the Associate Athletic Director.

In December of 2021, Buck was promoted to his current position where he will have oversight of business operations, tickets, concessions, compliance, and student-athlete welfare. He remains the chair of the UF Athletic Hall of Fame and continues to handle all of the Oilers scheduling efforts as well as managing the department's student staff.

Buck started at Findlay as the sports information director and served in that role from 2003-10. He was then named the assistant athletic director for media relations in 2011 before being promoted to the assistant athletic director of marketing and media relations in 2015. He later served as the assistant athletic director for external relations from 2018-2021.

Before his current role, Buck spearheadead the Oilers marketing, media relations, special events, radio broadcasting, social media, ticketing, and concessions operations.

Outside of his role at Findlay, Buck has served as the regional coordinator for the Midwest Region men's basketball all-star teams from 2014-22 and served on the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) scheduling committee since 2018-22. He was appointed to the NCAA Division II women's lacrosse regional advisory committee in 2019 and serves as the Vice President of the Board for Gliding Stars in Findlay, an adaptive ice-skating program for differently-abled youth and young adults.

Prior to his appointment at Findlay in July of 2003, Buck served as a graduate assistant in the athletic department with the Oilers during the 2002 season.  He also spent time working in the sales and public relations departments with the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association (NBA) after graduating college.

While with the Cavaliers, Buck assisted in the production of game notes, statistic distribution, event setup, season ticket renewal activities, and compiled sales reports of various sales/marketing activities.

Buck earned his bachelor’s degree in sports management with minor in business from Bluffton College in 2001, where he spent time on the basketball team. He then obtained his master’s degree in organizational leadership from Findlay in 2008.

A native of Findlay, Buck and his wife, Angel, reside in Findlay with their son, Connor, and daughters, Jenna, Brynnley, and Jacelynn.
