Bio

Fiona Hanks is entering her 23rd year with the Oilers and began her role as Assistant AD for Sports Medicine in December of 2021. Prior to her current role, Hanks held the title of head athletic trainer title from 2001-2021.

In the 2017-18 season, Hanks and her staff were honored by the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) with the league's Athletic Training Staff of the Year award. The presentation took place at the league's annual summer meeting in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Hanks is originally from Sydney, Australia where she worked as an elementary school teacher and outdoor education instructor.  Before her move to Findlay in 1999, she attended California University of Pennsylvania for her master’s degree in athletic training and received a bachelor’s degree in athletic training and physical education from Frostburg State University.  

Prior to Frostburg, Fiona worked as an assistant field hockey coach for one year at Davis and Elkins College in West Virginia.

Hanks resides in Findlay with her wife, Melissa and their dog, Remy.
