Parrill Resigns as Head Baseball Coach

Steve Parrill has announced that he will resign as head coach of the University of Findlay baseball team to pursue an opportunity outside of coaching after an eight-year run with the Oilers.

"I would like to thank the University of Findlay and the athletic department for allowing me the honor to coach a fantastic group of current and past players during my time with the Oilers," said Parrill. "My time at Findlay has been beyond amazing and I will miss it greatly, but an opportunity has come up outside of athletics and coaching that will allow me to spend more time with my family moving forward."

Parrill led the Oilers to 116 victories during his tenure with the team, the fourth-highest total in program history. He coached one NCAA Division II All-American, one all-region player, and eight all-conference athletes during his time at Findlay.

Parrill's best season with Findlay came during the 2018 campaign when the Oilers finished 23-17 with a 15-10 mark in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play. The Oilers win total that year was the highest the program had achieved since 2008.

"I would like to thank Coach Parrill for mentoring and leading an outstanding group of young men for the past eight years," said Oilers Director of Athletics, Brandi Laurita. "He has been a tremendous leader and I wish him the best in his future endeavors."

A national search for a head baseball coach will begin immediately.
