Oilers Take 5th at Tournament of Champions
On Saturday, December 3rd, the University of Findlay Hunt Seat Oiler Equestrian Team competed at the 25th Annual Holiday Tournament of Champions. Eighteen of the top ranked IHSA hunt Seat teams from across the country met at Ohio University (Stonegate Farm, Athens, OH) for a friendly holiday team competition.
Every single Oiler rider stepped into the ring with poise and determination. Ultimately every student came home with top eight placings. As the last horse walked out of the ring at 6p.m, the Oilers walked away with a grand total of 30 team points, good enough for 5th.
Special congratulations also go to junior Marco Polo Uchoa and senior Alexa Murray who competed individually in their respective High and Low Medal classes. Marco Polo Uchoa finished overall Reserve Champion (2nd) of 27 entries in the Tournament of Champions Collegiate High Medal. Alexa Murray finished 9th overall out of 22 in the Tournament of Champions Collegiate Low Medal.
