Williams Leads Talented Running Backs

The University of Findlay has long been known to produce great running backs and returning starter Monterae Williams is no exception to the rule. A junior, Williams is one of the few proven players on the Oilers offense and will be counted on to produce yet again in 2011.

An honorable mention all-GLIAC pick last year, Williams rushed for a team-high 1,107 yards while accounting for 41 percent of the Oilers total offensive yardage in 2010. The 2009 GLIAC Freshman of the Year has also gained 2,044 rushing yards in his career, averaging 4.4 yards per carry.

Sophomore Ray Ballard also returns to the Oilers backfield after posting 82 yards on the ground in 2010 as well as Zach Kinninger, a red-shirt sophomore.

"We have a nice stable of backs this season," said running backs coach Mike Corona. "They are explosive athletes who have the capability to generate big plays."

The Oilers have some younger talent at the position too as Daiquone Ford, a freshman, has shown the ability to make an impact at the position.

"We have seen some good things from our younger guys which is good for now and also good for the future," said Corona.
