Oilers Ink 33
Findlay, Ohio - The University of Findlay football program announced the signing of 33 student-athletes on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012 as head coach Rob Keys and his staff unveiled their second recruiting class for the Oilers.
"We met a high percentage of our needs with this recruiting class," said head coach Rob Keys. "We were much more specific in our recruiting this season compared to last year. We had to recruit everyone last year, but we wanted to use this class to fill some holes."
The class features 20 defensive players and 13 offensive players from four states. There are 28 players from Ohio, three from Michigan and one each from Indiana and Illinois.
On offense, the class is made up of five wide receivers, four tight ends, two quarterbacks, one running back and one offensive lineman while the defense consists of eight linebackers, seven defensive backs and five defensive linemen.
"We needed to find another running back along with some offensive lineman and tight ends on offense," said Keys. "Defensively, we wanted to improve our athletic ability at the linebacker position. We also wanted to get some bigger athletes in the secondary and along the defensive line." We believe we met those needs with this class and will continue to recruit to add more depth."
